Mission: There are over 6,700 of us at O2. We’re all different but at the core, we are all the same, we love what we do - whether that's surprising our customers, providing them with support, or coming up with ideas for ‘the next big thing&rsquo ...
Jo Kelly from our Retentions department has written about what it is like to take part in some of Our Blueprint events.
John Cain, one of our fab Terriorty Trainers has written a blog about doing something when you feel stressed.
We’re more than just a network; we’re a way to live better with technology. We give our customers the best new tech on our award-winning network and it’s those very customers that shape us. We get to know them, how they use their mobile and listen to their feedback to give them more of what they want; and then some. And it’s the same with our employees. Because our people are our greatest asset, we’ll ensure you have all the knowledge, tools and support you need to excel, as well as rewards, perks, and personal development opportunities.
With over 6,700 of us at O2, we have a very unique and diverse employee base. We’re all different but at the core, we all love what we do - whether we’re surprising our customers, offering the best support, or coming up with ideas for ‘the next big thing’. With all kinds of career routes, maybe you’re exactly the talent we’re after – so come join us and be a part of our adventure.
Our customers may think of us as just a mobile network, but there’s so much more going on behind the scenes that only our people get to see. We’ve all kinds of people in loads of different roles at our offices throughout the country and at our Head Office in Slough – everything from HR, Marketing, Finance, Digital, Legal and much more
We’re full of surprises at our Head Office, including freshly brewed Starbucks coffee, a canteen with restaurant-quality food, and even an in-house gym. There’s also scope to join our family via our parent company Telefónica and our partnership businesses Tesco Mobile and GiffGaff. Explore more and find the career that fits you, in an office that knows how to keep you going at your best
Whether it’s online, on the phone or in-store, our retail team bring tech to life for our customers and help show them new and improved ways to shop, learn, play and talk. They fill our customer’s minds with new and exciting possibilities and showcase apps & services that transform how they use their devices. Every day is a chance to show our customers how they can live better with tech.
At O2 we want to change the face of retail. We want our stores to be an airy and cool place to be for our customers and our people. That’s why we created our Flagships, with stores in Manchester, Birmingham, and London, with more planned for the future. To find out more about our Flagships, check them out here.
We’ve made sure our basic salaries and bonuses are up there with the best in the market. But it’s the benefits we offer – that make us really stand out. We’ve made sure there’s more for you. The list goes on and on.
We offer competitive salaries, bonuses, a pension and 23 days’ holiday a year (pro rata). Then there are flexible benefits you can pick and choose from to create the package that’s just right for you. These include such things as:
OK so it may be a long way off yet. And your pension may not be the first benefit you think about. But we’ve put together an amazing, award-winning pension scheme that offers you more. You see, we’ll look after you, even when you’ve stopped working here. What are we talking about? These are just some of the benefits you could enjoy if you join our pension plan:
What’s all the fuss about? Just take a look at www.telefonicapensions.com - it’s packed full of info about our pension plan.
We told you we offer more. Here are just some of the special treats that will make your life better outside of work:
At O2 we won’t make you choose between your family and career. We’ll help you enjoy the best of both worlds with a healthy work/life balance. So you won’t miss those special moments. Life isn’t all work, work, work. So we encourage our people to take up all kinds of flexible working options:
We also have a variety of family friendly policies. And we put on different family fun days too. There are plenty of activities to keep the kids busy. And you can join in the fun with seasonal goodies, festive food & drink and special visits.
It’s a way of life here. It has to be. It takes all kinds of characters to help us think differently and meet the diverse needs of our customers.
We love having a diverse team of people who bring new ideas and different strengths and perspectives to the party. Techies. Leaders. Bold thinkers. Supreme organisers. We’re on a journey together. So, we all have the same opportunities to grow, succeed and be more. Working with and learning from people from all walks of life makes every day an adventure.
Passionate about diversity and inclusion, we treat everyone fairly and equally. You’ll be able to be yourself. And you’ll enjoy fair pay, equal prospects and individual career development. Not to mention flexible working and a healthy/work life balance. For our early careers, we’ve even started having ‘blind’ interviews to make sure we assess the person - not their CV!
Equality. Diversity. Inclusion. Fairness. This is how we roll. Whoever you are – O2 has a place for you.
Inclusive. Diverse. Proud.
25 million customers. 7,000 employees. Each one of us unique in our own way. O2’s LGBTQ network has been evolving this year, you will know us for our Pride events but at the same time as celebrating our diversity and inclusivity externally we’ve been reviewing our internal focus, objectives and plan for the year ahead. Our plan has a strong theme to be more diverse, more inclusive and continue to support our ‘everyone to bring their whole selves to work’ strategy. That’s why we are changing our name and now stand strong as Proud at O2.
We are Proud to be part of a company that has an open culture and people at the centre of our success but we still have work to do. Our plan will support everyone to be Proud of who they are and how they choose to identify. We want to reach out beyond our main offices and share our stories and support our people, friends or family members who wish to stand proud on their behalf. We are Proud at O2.
Fancy a job that's personally rewarding and generously rewarded?
At O2, we give more. More possibilities. More support. More perks. For our customers and our people.
We see the Women's Network as a platform, a resource and a community for like-minded people (whatever your gender, background and race) to be empowered, together. We have a big focus on development, networking, family, inspiration and health and wellbeing.
We're very proud to support Step into STEM. A 7 month mentoring and work insight programme funded and supported by O2, BT, Vodafone and Ericsson to give female students access to professionals in science, technology, engineering & maths sectors.
We're a growing group of passionate people who believe that equality is best.
This year we’re looking to increase our footprint (and recruit more men), but for now we want to make sure that Network members feel supported and that we grow together.
We're also a champion member of the Social Mobility Business Compact, meaning we're dedicated to democratising access to opportunity and making sure everyone has the chance to fulfil their potential, whatever their background.

I have been working at O2 full-time (More than 10 years)
Flexible working - both in terms of hours and location, great people, fantastic perks
actually struggling to think of anything right now - I have been here 22 years so that must tell it's own story!
Advice to Management
I don't have any advice to Management - just keep doing what you are doing - it's working well!
I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at O2 (Slough, Berkshire, South East England, England) in August 2017.
I initially had a phone interview with the Senior HR Recruitment Advisor and they were extremely helpful. I then completed an online video interview which in comparison to other video interviews I have completed, this was by far the most relaxed one as they allow good amount of time to complete and even the option to record your answer the second time.
I was then accepted for a face to face interview with two of the HR managers and that was overall very relaxed however I did lack more of the knowledge they required from a HR Change employee and I had just graduated.
