    I worked at O2 full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great Learning & Development programs which anyone in the business can access

Generous pay and lots of flexible benefits for all staff

The business promotes networking and gives you tools to do so - but you do need to put a lot of effort in to build relationships with people not in your direct team As opportunities to network and meet other teams face to face come far and few in between.

Friendly colleagues within the stores teams.

O2 look after their staff and really try and create a fun and positive place to work where their employees enjoy working which is nice and noticeable.

Great retail roadshows which all retail employees are invited to, very inspiring and a really fun experience to attend.

Very generous sick pay, and really good support tools if you need time off for health reason, or family reasons.

    Cons

Big divide between stores, franchise, online, head office, customer service teams. They have been saying for a while now they are going to align all teams but this hasn’t really happened.

Hard to build relationships with other people in the business outside of the stores teams.

Stores targets are completely unrealistic and based on a time when online sales weren’t as they are today which has impacted stores drastically over the past few years.

Store refits promised to teams and stores and then implemented in other sites instead without reason.

Opportunities discussed and offered and then not being given any support with time to be able to do said opportunities in the business

Retail is going downhill rapidly and this doesn’t seem to be being taken into account with future prospects and plans

    Advice to Management

Nurture your long standing successful employees, and ensure you are considering them for other opportunities, and helping to develop them and appreciating their loyalty to the business, and not just promoting / offering opportunities to those who you are “friends” with in the business.

I have been working at O2 full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Dynamic fast paced with a culture that truly values you as an individual. Excellent focus on work life balance what you put into the business is truly recognised and rewarded. Managers now walk the talk as this is supported consistently top to bottom

    Cons

As with any large organisation some processes are out dated and support tools are nearing a refresh but plans in place to address. Only minor niggle is lossof nearby overflow car park at Slough office which makes it a real pain for those travelling a fair distance to park unless-getting up at silly o’clock which is not safe if doing full day and driving home same day. Firm do however offer free shuttle service from rail station so there is an option as I said therefore a minor niggle

    Advice to Management

Keep to the plan it is working in the 2 plus years I’ve been here I’ve only seen things improve and the recent changes within Enterprise in simplifying the senior management structure has really accelerated this trend
