We’ve been helping people to find insurance for over 50 years, from car to home, bike to van, commercial to taxi insurance, plus services like breakdown cover.
With a friendly face in over 350 branches, it’s no wonder we serve over 2m people, handle over 4m policies and employ over 5,000 dedicated people.

Our Swinton Insurance story began in 1957, when Ken Scowcroft sold his first car insurance policy for just five pounds. Back then, you bought motor insurance when people came direct to your door, but Ken had a better idea.
By comparing prices from lots of insurance companies, Ken could retain the personal touch and pass on the savings to his customers. In his first year, he sold over 100 policies. And with that, Swinton Insurance was born.
In 1964 he opened his first high street branch and by 1987, Swinton Insurance was a household name, with 220 branches nationwide.

This honest personal approach, inherited from Ken, is still the cornerstone of our business. And we look for the same qualities in the individuals and companies we work with.

Relentless change - albeit required to bring the business into the 21st century. It would be nice to see a period of consolidation to embed to changes.
Getting things right the first time - too many changes implemented without the involvement of the people at the coal face.
Unfortunately In the past we have had people making decisions for areas of the business in which they had little understanding - I am pleased to say that there have been significant improvements in this area over the last couple of years.

Clear, transparent and honest communication required to ensure that people are well informed and well prepared for further changes within the business.

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Swinton Insurance (Maidstone, England).
Phone interview,booked in for a timeslot.Nine mins before actually interview,got a email cancelling and asking to reschedule with no valid reason.
Replied back and got a automated response email then finally got a reply giving the reason,I.T problems.
Make what you will of it,but felt unprofessional and unorganized.
