Pros

Free gym membership. Non-management employees are very sweet. The gym is nice, the operations department does a wonderful job keeping things running.

Cons

A few horrible things happened here. First of all, the salary I negotiated was not the salary they ended up paying me. They underpaid me for almost six months before they finally agreed to give me what I had originally been offered in my interview. Second of all, I was a café employee. We would frequently run out of ingredients towards the end of the night. One night, a woman came in asking for a food item that we could not make due to the ingredients being out of stock for the night. We asked her if she would be interested in another item, made that item, and checked her out. The next day, I was called into my manager's office and told I would be reprimanded because the woman claimed that she was not served at all. There are cameras in the cafe that can be checked, yet upper management chose to immediately give me punishment instead of checking all the facts of the situation. A few days later, upper management pulled me aside to apologize because I had actually served the woman. But I had already received the punishment and I was tired of being mistreated at that point. I hadn't missed a single shift (other than a time in January when I had a fever of 104 F), I did good work in the café, and I have good work ethic in general that I am not willing to waste on a place that lacks respect for its people. I resigned the same day I was apologized to. Note that this was all done by upper management. My managers in the cafe are all sweethearts and I will miss them. One final note, working at this job feels like being in highschool again with all the gossip. I'm very tired of how much management talks about other people behind their backs. The way they treat employees is incredibly unprofessional.

Pros

Amazing flexibility, great work culture, decent hours during offseason, decent pay, good career progression.

Cons

Upper management sometimes decides they know best for aquatics when they’re never around, members don’t receive any repercussions for behavior.

Pros

Excellent reputation Comprehensive benefits package Generous product discount Discounted membership for family members Cohesive team environment Accessible upper management

Cons

Not the right fit for those who strictly want to teach - this is very much a sales job with many metrics to hit You are on your own to acquire new students and fill your classes - this can take months No sound proofing between rooms - made it difficult to teach Pilates while louder classes were going on in adjacent studio (members complained about noise) The Lifetime signature is expensive for many - Pilates costs extra - at times could be a hard sell Spent a good portion of time teaching complimentary classes instead of paid group classes Expectations / goals high for part time employee

Beautiful toxic workplace

Pros

The facilities are beautiful and the brand has strong recognition. On the surface it appears to be a great place to work in wellness or fitness.

Cons

I worked at the Las Colinas location and my experience reflected serious issues with leadership, communication, and compensation. This was one of the most dysfunctional workplaces I’ve experienced. Leadership often lacked basic competence in the areas they were responsible for managing. Communication was minimal, and when it did occur it frequently contained inaccurate information or obvious errors. Accountability was extremely weak. Favoritism appeared to be common, and some employees seemed to receive special treatment. At the same time, management frequently avoided responsibility, cut corners, or delegated tasks to unqualified staff or personal acquaintances. The commission-only compensation structure is unsustainable for many employees. Even full-time workers can struggle to cover basic living expenses, with earnings well below the local average for similar roles. When concerns about income were raised, the response from management was essentially to “work more hours,” even when schedules were already demanding. The business model pushes the risk onto employees while treating them as disposable labor. Workers are responsible for generating their own revenue with minimal support, and if the numbers aren’t high enough, they are quickly replaced. Management practices also created constant disruptions to schedules. Meetings were often placed on calendars without notice, blocking potential clients and then being rescheduled or canceled later. Emails frequently went unanswered. Concerns about workplace culture, favoritism, and leadership practices were raised to upper management, but no meaningful action followed. Overall, the culture felt highly transactional. Employees were treated primarily as revenue generators rather than professionals. Morale was extremely low.

Pros

- Gym membership - Most team members are really nice - Usually a happy environment to work in - Lots of the members are friendly - In this environment everyone is trying to be health conscious and live a better life

Cons

- "Cult Like", Upper management will make you hold hands singing kumbaya and pretend to be your friend but they arn't - Lack of support from management, especially with younger leaders - High turnover rate - Poor communication about expectations and polices - Usually understaffed - Lots of work for little pay Company and profits come first, they promote a "happy, healthy workplace" but its still just driven by Corporate expectations and don't really care for their staff.

Pros

Can have generous “per class” pay for some. Free gym membership.

Cons

Not paid for any time spent on building class playlists, programming, etc. Upper management is often disorganized. Communication between levels of management and departments is severely lacking.

Pros

Coworkers and supervisors are great. Lots of kind members. Beautiful outdoor pool in the summertime.

Cons

Upper management seems to ignore common sense; for example, not providing functional waterproof walkies and rewarding team managers for low budgets, encouraging lean sometimes understaffed schedules.
