Pros

Leadership aside, I met some really great consultants at Thought Logic. The firm does a great job “recruiting” and as a result, there are a lot of sharp, brilliant people that come through the firm.

Cons

If you’re looking for a place that’s diverse, in ANY senses of the word, this is not the place for you. The leadership team does not practice the values they preach. While work/life balance is supposed to be front and center and the leadership insists they care about performance, it became clear very quickly that drinking and brown nosing is what’s required to excel. If you’re looking to join a frat or a gossipy social club, then best of luck. But if you’re looking for a place that truly cares about fostering talent and actually cares about your career desires, keep looking.

Thank you for sharing your experience during your time with Thought Logic. First, I would agree, we are super proud of our talented and passionate consultants, I am so appreciative for the opportunity to work with them every day! Regarding the rest of your review, you touched on a number of different areas, so I will do my best to address all of them; diversity and inclusion has always been an area of great importance to Thought Logic. I view the creation of a diverse company as a race with no finish line, it is something that needs consistent attention and focus. I am proud of our consultant-led Inclusion and Diversity Committee. They, along with the rest of the leadership team are creating a framework and set of goals that will ensure we celebrate and utilize the uniqueness of each employee so that our entire staff feel included and represented as we continue to grow. In terms of work/life balance, we do our best to ensure our consultants maintain a healthy balance between client / internal work and time with friends and family. Admittedly, consulting can require long hours, however, we review the hours of each consultant every week and if we notice spikes in hours worked, we look into the reasons and make adjustments as needed. Lastly, it was/is never our intention to create a “frat-like” culture with a negative connotation, however, we do share common interests and work in the same profession. We have created a culture where people truly get along and like each other. Our consultants have a genuine interest in their co-workers, their families, their hobby’s outside of work, etc. In short, yes, like a fraternity, we enjoy spending time together. We have collectively worked hard to create an environment of collaboration and trust which I view as our greatest asset. Thanks again and in the spirit of always improving, I encourage you to please contact me directly to talk further. Best of luck. Keith Roberts

This is Keith Roberts, Managing Partner. It’s unfortunate that you had a bad experience with us. We strive to be inclusive in our approach and have many outlets for our colleagues to engage and foster deeper relationships internally. As part of our core values, we encourage our consultants to have fun and provide many, diverse ways of doing so. We are constantly seeking new ways to actively connect with our colleagues and for them to do so with each other and feel like we are very successful in our efforts. As to our financial condition, we actually have a very strong balance sheet. We have historically not relied on borrowing, have very little debt currently with no expectations of taking on additional amounts and our revenue to debt ratios are far better than firms of similar size. I would be happy to speak with you more about this if you would like. Please email me or call me if you would like to discuss.

Pros

- Good pay and decent benefits - If you get on a long enough project with the right team you can ignore a lot of noise internally - Some really well intentioned folks who are handcuffed by the politics

Cons

- The CEO is a problematic and holding the business back. Anything and everything is a personal affront depending on the day and those in middle management walk on eggshells because of him - If you were a part of Greek life in college you’ll probably love the culture here. Leadership is almost exclusively all Males with very little diversity of thought - There’s a weird dynamic where the people in charge seem to have a deep antipathy for those in delivery especially if you aren’t one of their buddies - Strategic direction changes every few months and there is no value proposition. We are whatever the leaders think will be the easiest path to success regardless of the skill sets of existing talent. Strategy decisions are rarely communicated clearly and there’s no accountability from leaders when these decisions fail - They will raid your business network with little regard for the damage left behind, so I would recommend sharing with caution. Getting sales credit and paid on an opportunity can also be murky - There’s no discernible culture here. Heavy emphasis on drinking and social events (regardless of how they interfere with client time or personal obligations). You will be dinged for not attending almost all of them. - Career pathing and skills development is limited and I’ve seen very few people move up to more meaningful roles. The leadership pipeline consists of outside hires who are friends with the CEO. And when they don’t work out, their departures are swept under the rug and never mentioned again
