Some sites have terrible work cultures/micromanagers etc. Shifts can be awful - e.g. you may work 7am-4pm one day then 10am-7pm in completely different sites. I have heard horror stories of false promises of pay rises if you change notice period from 1 month to 3 (and then never get the pay rise) Pay disparity in FST team is large and companies actively discouraged pay transparency which is toxic. The company constantly brags about them winning new contracts and how big they’re growing but wages are stagnant and sometimes as technicians we feel undervalued. AV is massively male dominated and some sites have horrible male dominated cultures where you can hear unpleasant/offensive things. If you read you contract and push back - you can avoid getting screwed over. Work lift balance can suffer as shifts are irregular and long - especially if you have a long commute. No WFH possibilities. Benefits are bad - Aviva private health insurance, perkbox and 4% pension. No Cycle to Work, dental, no contribution matching
