We understand the importance of looking after ourselves, whether it’s at work or home 💙 So, we have recently introduced reflection rooms at some of our sites, for people to pray or for anyone who wants a quiet space. Looking after our people has always been important, and helping our people feel comfortable coming to work as their whole self is central to our wellbeing and inclusion strategy. The new reflection rooms have already become a popular space for colleagues to have some quiet time and look after themselves. Before some local school children headed off for their summer holidays, they had the chance to create a little piece of history! The team working to build our new pipeline recently visited some school children to show how the new pipe that will run right past their school will keep taps flowing for generations to come - so everyone can always turn on the tap to brush their teeth or make that first morning cuppa ☕ But that’s not all – they also wrote their names on a section of the pipe which will be going into the ground soon! Our new pipeline will stretch several hundred kilometres from North Lincolnshire to Essex, taking water from wetter parts of the region to drier 💧 Explore more about how we’re working to protect every drop here - https://lnkd.in/exrW3FRB
We recently celebrated Armed Forces Day! Across Anglian Water Services and our alliances, we're proud to have a large number of Armed Forces veterans, reservists, military spouses and cadet force volunteers as colleagues, and we took the time to say thank you and show our support for those in the Armed Forces community.
We're celebrating after receiving four awards at the renowned Water Industry Awards in Birmingham last week, including the prestigious Water Company of the Year! We’re also proud to have been awarded Diversity and Inclusion Initiative of the Year, Ground breaker Award for our low water commissioning approach as part of our Strategic Pipeline Project and Partnership Project of the Year for the Beacon Project with WaterAid, and the Nepal Water Supply Corporation.
We’re delighted and proud to share that last night we won an award for our strategy to support vulnerable customers in partnership with ReachOut by Sigma Connected, at the prestigious Credit Awards in London. Last year, we announced £135 million in customer support throughout 2023 for those struggling with the cost of living. This is our largest ever support package and builds on a £65 million package announced for 2022. It will help an estimated 330,000 customers over this year. Click on the link to find out more.
Today we were announced as a winner of Ofwat's latest innovation competition the #WaterBreakthroughChallenge3! This competition encourages initiatives that help tackle the biggest challenges facing the water sector, such as achieving net zero, protecting natural ecosystems and reducing leakage, as well as delivering value to society. We are proud to have won this!
Last week we co-hosted a Drinking Water Products Industry Workshop in London alongside Southern Water, NWG (Northumbrian Water Group) and WRc, to bring the water industry together to collaborate on shared challenges around approved drinking water products. We welcomed representatives from across the industry including procurement, delivery and water quality teams, as well as key suppliers to have great discussion through breakout sessions. We all identified key actions for us to take forward as an industry. Thank you to all the presenters on the day and everyone who attended.
Meet Dean and Darren 👋 Yesterday was National Sibling Day and not only are Dean and Darren siblings, they’re also twins! Darren has worked at Anglian Water for over 17 years and is Regulation Director leading on the development of our business plan covering the next five years (known in the water industry as PR24.) When an opportunity became available that was perfect for Dean, Darren knew he had to get him to apply and told him all about the great support and opportunities available at Anglian Water. Dean said “Since I joined the Brand and Marketing Team nearly 4 years ago, it's been really interesting working in the same business as Darren, and people don't get us confused too often! It's a great place to work and I've had chances to get new skills and training since I've joined." At Anglian Water, anyone is welcome to join the family, so if you want to get involved, take a look at opportunities here https://lnkd.in/dsgc8cY
We’re proud to be the first water company to have been awarded the ISO (45003) standard which recognises the important work we do to support our colleagues health and wellbeing. The new ISO (45003) standard recognises an environment where our people feel safe and supported to be themselves and perform at their best. It also builds on our existing ISO (45001) for occupational health and safety. Colleagues are able to take part in an all year-round wellbeing programme, where they can join speaker events, take part in webinars, gain access to health and wellbeing support and lots more! Health and wellbeing is something we take really seriously at Anglian Water and we’re delighted that this has been recognised.
