As announced in our business plans and our Water Resources Management Plan, we’re investing in two new reservoirs, one in Lincolnshire, and another in the Cambridgeshire Fen in partnership with Cambridge Water. Delivering our Shared Ambition outlines how we will hold ourselves to high standards to deliver the ambitions that we, our regional partners and our customers all have for the reservoirs. This – alongside the commitments we already have as a business – will help us develop the best possible proposals and create a lasting, positive legacy for our region. Exciting positions arising within our Major Infrastructure Team, working on multi-billion pound projects! Anglian Water’s Major Infrastructure Team helps to meet tomorrow’s challenges today by planning and delivering high-quality large scale infrastructure for the East of England. Our projects help address challenges such as securing water supply for future generations, reaching net zero, adapting to climate change and restoring the environment. We aim to deliver new jobs, improved opportunities for people in communities across the region and boost local economies. The projects you may already be familiar with are: Cambridge’s Waste Water Treatment Plant Relocation project and our two new proposed raw water reservoirs in Lincolnshire and the Fens (each of which are similar in size to Grafham Water). We are also in the early stages of planning for various accelerated AMP8 projects, including new pipelines and a water reuse scheme. These are the positions we will be looking to recruit over the coming months - Project Management and Engineering Management senior leadership roles, Planning & Stakeholder Programme Coordinator, Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Planning Lead, Programme Administrator (and many more!) If you are keen to register your interest or discuss any of these positions, then please get in touch with Zoe Perich zperich@anglianwater.co.uk or visit https://anglianwatercareers.co.uk/
Our business plan, which we have just submitted to Ofwat, will deliver £9 billion of essential investment in the East of England. It was created in consultation with our customers, and it balances ambition and affordability. It will create over 7,000 jobs and meet the unique challenges facing our fast-growing and climate-stressed region, helping the East of England to thrive and prosper. Importantly, 73% of customers surveyed support our proposals. By 2030, we will have prepared two new reservoirs for construction, which will supply 625,000 properties across our region, and £476 million will be allocated to support new housing, plus the extension of our strategic pipeline will help ensure the region remains resilient to drought. We will support all customers at risk of water poverty including an industry-first medical needs discount. We will double our investment in the environment to £4 billion – with £1 billion specifically to tackle storm overflows, and create treatment wetlands the size of 100 football pitches. By 2030 average bills will rise by just 21p a day and we will have doubled our package of financial support for customers.
