The Essex beavers have finally arrived at Spains Hall Estate! Occupying two 50-acre enclosures, the new arrivals will get to work doing what beavers do best, building dams. Dams not only help reduce the risk of flooding but also slow down the flow of water during a drought. Creating natural wetlands that are rich in biodiversity, beavers truly transform the landscape. We are delighted to have partnered with Spains Hall Estate, Environment Agency, Essex & Suffolk Water, Essex County Council and the RFCC on this unique project. Watch our video to find out more ⬇️
Meet Darren, one of our Customer Service Representatives, who is out and about meeting customers every day at their homes 🏠 Recently he visited a customer’s home to check for a leak and he also went the extra mile to help the customer understand their bill. “When Darren visited my home, he was very helpful in checking for a leak and explaining the problem to me and also clearly explaining what the next step would be. “He also explained my bills to me and helped me sort them out on my laptop. I am sure many of your older customers like myself appreciate his friendly and helpful approach.” What a superstar! 🌟 Well done Darren and thank you for always supporting our customers!

Our purpose - to provide environmental and social prosperity to the region we serve through our commitment to love every drop - is at the heart of everything we do at Anglian Water. In 2019, we were the first major utility to enshrine purpose into the fabric of our company constitution. Peter Simpson, our CEO, spoke to the Given #Purposing podcast about what we’ve done since then to create a culture that puts this purpose into practice in every corner of our business. To be our best at work and home, it's important to stay focused on our physical and mental health. Throughout July we’ve been focusing on supporting our colleagues with their summer wellbeing. We hosted a webinar focusing on the benefits that being outside and connecting with nature can have on our health - as well as sharing advice and tips to help keep our people safe, cool and hydrated in the hot weather.
We’re excited to announce that we’ve partnered with Hey Girls to provide free sustainable period products across Anglian Water. Following a pilot scheme at our campus sites we are now expanding the roll out to many of our operational sites across the company to help support the wellbeing of our staff. For every period product we buy, one is donated to people in need across our region and the rest of the UK. We’re excited to continue working with HeyGirls to create a more sustainable future for our planet.
