BAT South Africa has joined the call to stamp out hunger and will pack 200,000 meals as part of its Mandela Day activities. BAT South Africa’s Head Office in Stellenbosch, in partnership with Stop Hunger Now Southern Africa, hosted a meal packing event on Friday 17 July as part of its Mandela Day activities. Employees packed 60,000 meals in four sessions of 67 minutes each. According to Feroz Koor, Head of Sustainability at BAT South Africa, the company is celebrating Madiba’s life and legacy through an extended employee volunteerism drive which began on 25 June and will end on 6 August.

Every year, the Japanese community thanks the city of Hamburg with the annual “Cherry Blossom Festival”, which includes a spectacular fireworks display! To mark the occasion, BAT Germany invited all its employees onto the rooftop of the office – seven floors up from the street – which has a fantastic view over the Alster Lake and gave everyone a prime position to see the best of the fireworks. For the second consecutive year, BAT Georgia was recognised as the best CSR Company (Education Category) and Best Employer, during the 2014 Golden Brand Award Ceremony! In addition to other activities, they’ve been working tirelessly to provide greater opportunity and business experience to students, with a Scholarship Project for Internally Displaced Family Students, where 13 Masters-level students received financial support for education, and an International Business Case Competition, which saw university students developing business case solutions and presentation skills.
