We’ve trained 500 frontline staff in CPR & to use defibrillators as part of Virgin Media’s life-saving partnership with the British Heart Foundation. The programme is the largest of its kind in the UK and means that up to 500 of our people are ready to respond to a crisis via the Good Sam App. Ex-footballer Fabrice Muamba, has praised our campaign for driving further awareness about CPR training. He recovered from a cardiac arrest in 2012 thanks to the administration of CPR and access to a defibrillator.

Today we share our third quarter 2021 results - our first full quarter as Virgin Media O2 and we are firing on all cylinders as a new company. In just under 150 days, we have built real commercial momentum in Q3 with top line revenue growth, subscriber increases across both fixed and mobile, and continued growth in our small business base. We’ve made significant investment to our network that has resulted with 13m homes with gigabit speeds, expanding our network to 2.6m additional premises through Project Lightning. And we’re also investing in our mobile network to bring #5G to 50% of the population by 2023, while boosting 4G services in 85,000 locations. We’re excited to announce our new partnership with 20/20 Change to provide hundreds of young people from underrepresented ethnic groups with coaching & advice to help them move from education to employment. The programme will help 17-30 year-olds from disadvantaged backgrounds discover & fulfil their potential with 10 weekly sessions covering leadership, CV writing & digital skills. The two-year partnership – spearheaded by Virgin Media O2’s Enrich employee network for underrepresented ethnic groups – will enable 400 people to take part in 20/20 Change’s “I AM CHANGE” programme via a series of free courses. Our Virgin Media O2 employees will offer mentoring to young people and workspaces to run the sessions. 20/20 Change will also provide guidance on how we can better support our employees from underrepresented communities.
