International Men's Day serves as an important reminder to check in on all of our male colleagues. With men accounting for three quarters of suicide deaths in 2021, International Men's Day aims to recognise the importance of raising awareness of men's physical and mental well being, as well as promoting positive conversations around masculinity and manhood. All year round, our specially trained Mental Health First Aiders are on hand to help those who want to reach out, to ensure all of our colleagues get the mental health support they need.

We are proud to be partners of National Inclusion Week this year, and have carried out a range of activities throughout the week to mark the occasion. These activities include the launch of our Inclusion Pledge to over 200 sites, helping our colleagues make a commitment to building a more inclusive workplace; a live stream for all of our office-based colleagues to watch and engage with; and a refresh of our internal inclusion tools and resources. While we're proud of our commitment to inclusion and diversity, we know that there is always further to go, and we continue to strive towards ensuring a truly inclusive workplace for all.

This month we welcomed our new cohort of graduates to Veolia. This is the largest cohort Veolia has ever had! 😃 During their induction our graduates met many new colleagues, had a Q&A session with some of our ExCo members and gained a greater understanding of our business areas, values and purpose. ♻🌍 These graduates will now take up positions in a variety of roles across the UK and will make a lasting difference on the world around them and build a career that they can be proud of. 🤩 No matter what role you have, when you join us you can play a key role in achieving our vision, and we can make yours happen too.
Did you know that some of our sites have internal or external living walls? Pictured is our Leeds RERF and its beautiful living wall is one of the largest of its kind in Europe! It incorporates over 100,000 native plants, shrubs, grasses and bulbs and over 700 habitat boxes. These help to increase biodiversity as it provides food, shelter and a safe nesting space for birds and insects.
