They’re CEOs, and their job is no easy feat. Given all of the challenges that CEOs face, the fact that they have to consistently perform at a high level is pretty admirable in itself. But the recipients of Glassdoor’s Highest Rated CEOs award are not just showing up to do their jobs — they’re setting an example for leaders everywhere.
This year, Glassdoor has recognised the top CEOs in the UK, as well as among U.S. Large Companies (1,000+ employees), U.S. Small & Medium Companies (fewer than 1,000 employees), and in Canada, France, and Germany*.
Topping the list of Highest Rated CEOs in the UK for 2017 is Anglian Water CEO Peter Simpson with a 98% approval rating. Simpson’s achievement marks a number of firsts for the Highest Rated CEOs award — the first time Simpson has received this award, the first time that a utilities company has secured the top position, and the first time that Glassdoor’s UK Highest Rated CEOs list has expanded to include 50 CEOs, making Simpson’s accomplishment especially noteworthy. Employees cite the collaborative and supportive culture of the company and highlight that Simpson listens to people’s opinions and ideas no matter what their position in the company.
