The entire process was mismanaged, unprofessional and example of going out of the way for Customer disappointment (as a candidate) to say the least
Got contacted by a recruiter for Sr. PM - Amazon Business role based out of Bangalore and told to apply for a Job ID on the Jobs portal. The recruiter refused to share details of the team, hiring manager although the JD was pretty generic and informed about scheduling a phone screen next week. When asked for interview docs / prep material, was told i could Google for it or from the website
For a good couple of weeks, didn't hear from the recruiter (based out of Mumbai)... after a few follow up emails, got a Phone screen scheduled. The phone screen went well and was assured by future team member that I was moving further in process.
However, for a good 2 weeks, the recruiter refused to respond to my emails, calls for next steps. Finally, had to ask an Amazon contact who suggested to send an email to India recruiting help desk. This finally helped solicit an email from the HR who also transferred my candidature to a different recruiter.
After repeated follow ups with the second recruiter as well, got an onsite scheduled. THROUGHT THE ENTIRE PROCESS, THE RECRUITER WAS LIKE...I AM DOING YOU A FAVOR BY SCHEDULING YOUR INTERVIEW. The onsite was spread across 2 days focusing on 11 LPs shared by the panel. It was a good experience and my performance, including the bar raiser round, was decent.
However, even after couple of weeks from the Loop, didn't receive any communication from the recruiter. The recruiter refuses to return my calls or even respond to email. Till date, i dont know the hiring manager for the role...
Wondering if Amazon has lost its appeal and core values by compromising Quantity and cheap labour over quality.
