I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Amazon (London, England) in Jun 2021
Interview
The whole process took just over 1 month (from the referral date to the rejection email from Amazon Recruitment team). I was referred to the role by an Amazon employee. I hadn’t had a chance to talk to any recruiter (which I believe is unusual). I had one video call interview with the Hiring Manager. Although I was preparing for the interview, I don’t think I managed to answer the questions at a level that would get me the job. The call with the interviewer was overall pleasant. We talked about the role and I was asked a series (4-5) Amazon Leadership Principle questions and 2-3 product questions about Alexa. After the interview I didn’t hear from Amazon for 16 days. I sent multiple follow-up emails to the recruitment point of contact that was provided in the interview invitation email. They didn’t give any update to my referee either. 16 days after the interview I received a generic response “ Thank you for speaking with us about the Sr. Product Manager- Technical role. After careful consideration and review of your application, we have decided to progress with other candidates for this role, and are not able to provide additional feedback or information about this decision.”. I enjoyed having discussion with the Hiring Manager but the work of the recruitment team seemed sloppy.

Question 1
Leadership Principles questions and product focussed questions
It had 6 rounds- heavily focussed on leadership principles. they really do cross question almost every other example.......... You get multiple interviewers across the organisation. I thought- the questions were repetitive after one point.
