I have been working at Direct Line Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great vibe, a sense of a London Agency style working environment without the commuting costs!
A great bunch of driven people working to better themselves, each other, and DLG as a whole.

    Cons

As a 20 year veteran of DLG, love the way we continue to re-invent and disrupt, as yet I don't see any downsides!

    Advice to Management

Minutes from Central London, so commuting doesn't have to be the bind it may seem to be initially, well worth putting forward candidates for interviews and sampling the DLG Digital way...

I have been working at Direct Line Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

DLG is a really good company to work for and the people and working culture is what makes it so great. During the interview process they actually make sure that you would be a good fit within the team not just with your credentials and experience but also personality.

Flexible working is encouraged throughout the business at all levels and there are many work perks and benefits which make the employees feel very valued.

    Cons

The salary is not very good compared to what you could get doing the same job in the city.

I have been working at Direct Line Group full-time

    Pros

Great firm, good colleagues, decent offices and facilities, feel valued and able to provide great service to candidates and colleagues

    Cons

Salary could be better, but benefits are good and they pay a lot of attention to your development. Very reliant on phone contact, could modernise some services

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what they are doing, value staff and reward accordingly. Modernise some of the services, so less reliant on telephone contact

I have been working at Direct Line Group part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

It’s an inclusive company, forward thinking, listens to employee suggestions.

    Cons

I’ve heard that the pay can be better elsewhere for those that have been here a while although I understand that for new starters it’s really good

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to everyone and consider long standing staff in pay reviews

I have been working at Direct Line Group part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

No complacency here, it's a company that knows it has to continually evolve to be successful. It is really putting people at the heart of everything, both it's employees and customers. Exciting place to be.

    Cons

IT, although I know they have made significant investment and are looking to make huge leaps forward but these things don't happen overnight and there is a bit of pain along the way.

    Cons

I have been working at Direct Line Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I find DLG is always looking to the future, how can we do things better, how can we continue leading and disrupting the market. I also like the flexible working here. I have a long commute so being able to work from home occasionally really helps.

    Cons

Some of the IT systems here are outdated and slow. I also find that large projects are quite often disorganised.

    Advice to Management

Finish the refurbishment of the Bromley office

I have been working at Direct Line Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you like working in a fairly steady environment then it's good for working at your own pace
    Get to experience different roles

    Cons

    Roles aren't stretching
    You aren't developed quickly
There's a distinct lack of structure to the scheme, any shortcomings will be down to you to be more proactive
Whilst the company is well established, the scheme is new and needs a lot of work

    Advice to Management

Look at more established schemes to see what they're doing better than you (a lot at the moment)
Don't criticise those who provide useful and constructive feedback

I have been working at Direct Line Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working for Direct Line Group entitles you to half price home and car insurance, free travel and breakdown cover and half price per cover. They also give you the opportunity to join the share scheme.

Direct Line is such a massive group and it’s great to be part of a group which has clear future growth especially within the department which I work in.

    Cons

I believe that there are too many processes which could do with going out of the window which would help improve the customer journey. There seems to be very little progression, I feel that if I wanted to progress to a higher role I may have to leave my current team, when I said progress I mean in terms of senior or management roles.

I feel you really need to push for insurance qualifications which I don’t agree with, Direct Line Group is massive and it would only benefit them if they encouraged the qualifications more.
