I worked at Peninsula full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    City centre location
I loved my role at Peninsula but wasn't paid enough, and workload was far too high!
    Great social activities
Great place to gain experience & have on your CV, then move on
City centre location & amazing office

    Cons

Low salary, much below UK average
Clique environment between directors & managers
Call centre environment both on the sales floor and surprisingly on the advice floor (I've heard the shocking phone call targets for advisers, surely you want great customer service rather than to be rushed off the phone given the nature of the business)
    Very high turnover
Witnessed senior managers sacked due to being unliked by other senior management
Social activities advertised for everyone, but mainly taken up by the same groups as others not really encouraged. Or, other departments get benefits but others left out
Management sat over staff shoulders whilst they write reviews!

    Advice to Management

Look internally for development and not just to friends, those who put in the hard work & have external experience are much more suited than favourited colleagues.
Don't be so stingy with recruitment, staff are overworked

I have been working at Peninsula full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Brilliant training, amazing salary structure, first-class facilities, amazing culture, lots and lots of staff benefits (free phone insurance, free coffee's from high street chains, extra holiday etc) the list could go on.
I've been working for Peninsula now since September 2018 and it is by far the best company I have ever worked for, the training is second to none with time and money being invested into its people.
The induction for any staff is rather in-depth and inclusive I think as a minimum 3/4 weeks with some inductions/programs lasting months depending on your role.

Free breakfast on Mondays, Fruit on Wednesday and once a month a beer/wine them on a Friday!

Peninsula is like marmite to some, they have a certain culture you get out exactly what you put with the right work ethic, attitude and vision anyone can go far but it is not a company that will help you if you are not willing to help yourself.

Please don't confuse this with needing help, I've seen other member of Peninsula needing a helping hand and the company have gone above and beyond what anyone should/would expect in accommodating them.

Simple put things are black and white here, with straight talkers, which if you like that you will thrive!

    Cons

    Strict expenses policy that's it.

I worked at Peninsula full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good wages & good stop gap

    Cons

Nepotism and cliquey type behvaiour within the office.
Call centre enviornment for the HR role
    Unprofessional and rowdy colleagues
Very small office, living on top of each other
No managers in the Belfast office however some do try to micro manage
Excluded from social events unless you're in the clique
VERY high turnover rate, lots of people joined and left in the short space of time i was there
Systems are very bad, no IT support, teach yourself and form your own processes
    No room for progression
Massive car park but Peninsula do not pay for every member of staff to use it
    Very bad toilet facilities

    Advice to Management

Put a manager in the Belfast office, change the call centre enviornment for HR, move to an office where eveything isn't cramped.
