Meet Alina! Alina is a Team Manager in our Distribution Centre in Liverpool. She joined B&M after relocating from London, starting out as a picker before moving into the Audit Department. During her three years there, she gained valuable knowledge and experience in warehouse operations. Her career grew further when she became a step-up manager and completed the leadership training on our Future Leaders Programme, which she describes as “a key milestone in my development.” Putting her skills into practice, Alina progressed into the role of Team Manager, where she is now excelling. She has recently been recognised with both the Shift Manager and Colleague of the Year awards. “This recognition made me realise that great effort and commitment are truly valued in this company.” Alina shared: “What truly motivates me is the opportunity to support others in their own journeys; it gives me a real sense of purpose and keeps me showing up every day with a smile on my face.”
Meet Lucy! Lucy’s journey with B&M is a brilliant example of growth and progression within our business. She began her retail career at just 16 years old, working weekends in a local store. What started as a part-time job soon blossomed into a career when she joined B&M as a Duty Manager in 2012. Since then, Lucy has stepped up to Store Manager and now plays a vital role as an Area Manager. Her B&M story began at our Aylesbury store in Buckinghamshire, before moving on to Dunstable as Store Manager. She has also supported new store openings across the UK, including High Wycombe and Bicester. Lucy has discovered a real passion for developing others, becoming a trusted support for her colleagues and taking great pride in seeing their growth every day. Leading by example, Lucy has been recognised as Store Manager of the Year on four separate occasions, a testament to her dedication, leadership and drive. We watch as Lucy continues to grow and inspire, and we’re so excited to see what she achieves next! Join our B&M team, where we actively support and encourage career progression. We proudly unveiled our brand-new Store 911, Antrim, at Junction One Retail Park, officially opened by the Mayor of Antrim alongside Antrim Food Bank. And to add to the occasion, we’re proud that Antrim is home to our first ever Garden Centre store in Northern Ireland! The sun was shining as we welcomed our first customers. Congratulations to Store Manager, Ashley, Deputy Managers, Emma and Gabby, the whole team at 911 and everyone involved on a fantastic opening!

Meet Yusuf! Yusuf Joined B&M in 2019 and when we asked about the start of his B&M journey, he told us ‘The support I got from my team was phenomenal. I had a hunger to progress and develop and this motivated me further!’ Yusuf went on to earn the title of Colleague of the year twice in a row, before climbing the retail ladder and was successful in various store roles before becoming a Store Manager with us in 2024. Yusuf told us ’B&M is a fantastic place to work, where anyone can learn and develop with endless progression opportunities. Meet Sarah! Sarah was introduced to B&M by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in September this year, through our four-week work experience programme. As part of her introduction to the fast-paced world of B&M retailing, Sarah was buddied up with an experienced Store Colleague for support. Sarah’s Store Manager Eron said ‘From the start, Sarah showed a natural flair for retail, and during her placement we saw her confidence grow, as well as her knowledge of our products and communication skills with both customers and colleagues.’ At the end of her four-week placement, the store was delighted to offer Sarah a temporary seasonal Store Colleague position and she’s since secured a permanent role with the store team. Well Done, Sarah! 🎅 It's official - Mission Christmas is BACK! 🎅 Christmas is fast approaching and, although we’re very excited here at B&M, for the millions of struggling children and families across the country it can be a really difficult time of year. After 10 years of success, we’re once again partnering with Cash for Kids, backing their Mission Christmas appeal to help bring some Christmas magic to disadvantaged children across the UK. Last year, B&M customers helped raise over £17.4 million which made sure that 290,604 children and young people had a visit from Santa. Will you be participating this year?
