Last week, we proudly opened the doors to our newest store in Tottenham Hale! 🎉 In true B&M spirit, the team chose to give back to the local community by inviting Tottenham Food Bank as the nominated charity to officially cut the ribbon. A huge congratulations to Store Manager Akshay, Deputy Manager Beverley, and the entire team for their hard work and teamwork in bringing the store to life. From stocking the shelves to ensuring everything was ready for opening day, their efforts really paid off. Meet Rod! Rod has been a dedicated part of our team for over 11 years, starting his journey as a Warehouse Operative. With prior managerial experience, it wasn’t long before he was asked to step up as a Shift Supervisor in his department and soon after, Rod took on the role of Recycling Manager at our Vault Distribution Centre. One of the most satisfying projects Rod has led during his time here has helped make the company more efficient by successfully finding ways to optimise operations in the recycling department. For Rod, however, it’s his team that makes him the proudest. They face challenges every day, yet consistently give their all. With long-serving team members who have seen the company grow and change over the years, the team’s resilience is a testament to their dedication to both the business and themselves. Thank you, Rod and team!
Meet Brian who joined B&M at our Prestwick store in August 2020. Brian was new to retail when he became a Store Colleague with us! After only 9 months he moved up to Floor Supervisor and one year later, Brian had a further promotion to Floor Manager. During this time, when Brian wasn’t on the shop floor, he also worked as an on-call fire fighter with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) and had racked up nearly 30 years’ of service. Brian just retired from the SFRS (a photo from his retirement presentation is below) and since then Brian has recently taken a new role as a Health & Safety Regional Advisor, where his experience and knowledge will be an asset to our team!

We wanted to shine a light on recent new additions to our B&M family. Whether they’re joining us for the first time or moving into new roles within the Support Centre, we always take the time to welcome everyone! As part of their induction, our new colleagues are taken on a tour of a Distribution Centre and visit a local store. A huge thank you to Jay and Karina who led this week’s visits and provided a valuable insight to the full scope of our operations. We believe that this deeper understanding of how our supply chain and retail operations work together is crucial. Included this week were two colleagues who have transferred into the Central Operations and Health & Safety teams, from other parts of the business. 🔊 We’re proud to announce the opening of our newest store, 874 Golden Square, located inside Golden Square Shopping Centre in Warrington. The store was opened by local charity, the Sky Garden Project, a great initiative that grows vegetables, fruit and herbs for the community and is a green space for wildlife right in the heart of the town. To celebrate, we’ve donated plants and a brand-new sign to support the Sky Garden Project’s mission. 🌻🌿🌼🌳🌷 Leading our Golden Square store is Carl, who has been with B&M for 21 years! Carl is joined by Deputy Store Manager Robert, who has been with B&M for almost 5 years. A huge thank you to all colleagues involved in the opening and good luck to the new store team!
Meet Leone, who has had an exciting journey with B&M. Since joining the team in 2020 as a Shop Floor Supervisor, Leone has worked in a series of roles, including Replenishment Supervisor in 2021, Deputy Store Manager in 2022, and is now leading the way as Store Manager. Leone’s commitment and hard work were recently recognised when she won Store Manager of the Year award for Region 4! 🏆 What makes B&M special for Leone? “I love the fast pace, the challenges, the merchandising, and just being part of a fantastic business.” Leone’s journey demonstrates the career progression offered at B&M.
