More than 80 million items have been given a second life by Depop’s community since our marketplace started. That’s the equivalent of 10 pieces of clothing for every person in New York City. It’s 80 million items that didn’t need to be bought new. Making circular fashion more desirable and accessible is at the heart of our mission, and we’re proud of the real-world impact our community is driving. But we know there’s so much more to do, and we’re constantly working to improve the way we show up in the world. This week, we’ve published our Year 1 update on our Impact Goals - capturing what we’ve done in the last year to move toward our longer-term objectives across circularity, DEI, net zero and sustainable operations. From sharing our first Environmental Impact Measurement Methodology to launching and scaling our ‘Repop’ feature and making our product experience more inclusive; we’re working across five key pillars to drive positive impact for our community, teams and the wider world. ♻ Read our full update here >>> https://shorturl.at/YMWBd And learn more about our environmental impact calculations here >>> https://shorturl.at/NL0mo

🐾 Last week, some of our Depoppers had the incredible opportunity to use their Impact Hours at Fetcher Dog Rescue Centre - a charity rescuing stray dogs from Bosnia and UK shelters and finding them loving homes in the UK! 🐾 Our team jumped right in, helping with gardening and painting fences to create a welcoming space for dogs awaiting their forever homes. Aida Hota, Depops Senior Technical Programme Manager said “Meeting some of the sweet dogs and the amazing team behind Fetcher Dog was a highlight. Their dedication to giving these dogs a second chance at life is truly inspiring, and I’m proud to have contributed to their noble mission. I’m super grateful to Depop for giving us the chance to volunteer for causes we believe in.” At Depop, we provide all full-time employees with 2 additional paid days per year to volunteer for causes close to their hearts. It’s our way of empowering everyone to give back to the community and contribute to positive environmental and social impact. Last month, Depop's South West Asia and North Africa (SWANA) safe space took over Vibes, transforming London HQ into a vibrant one-night Souk ✨ The day was filled with activities and rich cultural experiences including fortune reading by Online Coffee Reader, henna designs, nail art by Nails by SK and personalised Arabic calligraphy by Crescent Calligraphy. The evening's entertainment included a SWANA knowledge quiz, a performance from Al Awde Zafa musicians and an incredible DJ set by DJ Yu Yu! A special thank you to Mouna’s Kitchen for serving authentic Syrian dishes, perfectly complemented by Ethiopian digestifs and Lebanese wine from Massaya. What an extraordinary way to celebrate Depop’s diverse and vibrant community!
