Did you know that at least 20% of Covid-19 related deaths are caused by sepsis? In addition, Covid-19 survivors are at increased risk of developing sepsis later in life. We’re donating £45,000 from our DLG Community Fund to The UK Sepsis Trust to support people touched by sepsis and importantly, given the similarities between the two, Covid-19. #Forceforgood #community #charity #covid19 #fundraising
At Direct Line Group, diversity isn’t only respected – it’s celebrated! This is why we have our DNA (Diversity Network Alliance) - a single group of our people that work together to promote and champion diversity and inclusion within our organisation. We have 9 DNA strands that represent diversity across age, belief, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, background and neurodiversity. This week we’ll be taking a spotlight on our BAME strand and talk to some of the amazing committee members about the work they have been doing to raise awareness, keeping the conversation going and how the strand celebrated Black History Month. #LifeatDLG #Celebratingdiveristy #Diversity #Inclusion #DNA #BHM #BlackHistoryMonth #BAME #Akala #diversityandinclusion
We've launched the third phase of the DLG Community Fund to distribute £1 million to charities focusing on problems that have become more acute due to Covid-19 - such as social mobility, left behind groups, food poverty and public health. We've already distributed £2.5 million to 200 charities, helping over 100,000 people and we're not stopping there! Some of our colleagues and charities, whose causes have benefited so far, tell us more about the difference the DLG Community Fund is making. #LifeatDLG #forceforgood #community #charity #insurance

Direct Line Group has teamed up with KidsOut to bring a bit of fun and happiness to children staying in refuges after fleeing domestic abuse. As part of our DLG Community Fund of £3.5 million we wanted to help provide essential aid to some of society’s most vulnerable. We’re therefore donating £50 food vouchers and over £100 worth of new toys to every family currently living in the 319 Women’s Aid Federation refuges in the UK. Let's be a #ForceforGood #WeCare #Alwaysbyyourside #charity #community
Many children who rely on schools for breakfast and lunch are at risk of going hungry. The DLG Community fund will provide funding for community groups across Leeds to feed 1,000 children and their families with food parcels and takeaway meals. Leeds Community Foundation's Healthy Holidays scheme supports projects that tackle the holiday hunger, inactivity and isolation faced by some of the poorest families in and around Leeds during school holidays. Since lockdown with children at home full time, the demand has increased significantly. Our donation will help many struggling families and enable us to support the local community where many of our people live and work. Let's be a #ForceforGood #WeCare #Alwaysbyyourside #charity #community #Leeds
We’re donating £100,000 from our DLG Community Fund to buy dozens of starter packs for people who need a safe place to stay and don’t have any day to day essentials. We’ve teamed up with Ipswich Borough Council to help those families and individuals who would otherwise be homeless - providing vital support when they need it most. The DLG Community Fund is all about giving back to our communities and supporting vulnerable people in these unprecedented times. Let's be a #ForceforGood #WeCare #Alwaysbyyourside #charity #community
