Meet our Data & Tech Graduates! Find out what our Data Science Lead Rebecca Vickery discovered when she sat down for a chat with our new Data & Tech Graduates, who joined us in September. Our Graduates will spend the next two years developing their knowledge and skills in data science, #data engineering and #software engineering. Read Rebecca’s blog to find out what attracted them to apply to EDF, how it’s going so far and what they’re most looking forward to in their #training. It is a hugely exciting time to join EDF, as we transition to a low carbon and Smart future energy system, with data and tech at the heart of this evolution. Are you interested in becoming one of our future Data & Technology Graduates? Visit our Data and Tech graduate page to apply to our 2023 #Graduate Programme!
Our 2023 #Graduate Schemes are open for applications and this year we’ve made a big change! 2:2 is the new entry requirement for our programmes, as we recognise that your potential for success is determined by more than your academic grades. We’re excited to be offering a variety of graduate schemes in 2023, in areas such as #commercial, #engineering, #technology and #finance. We welcome applications from candidates who are early in their career, or those looking for an opportunity to re-train. If you know anyone who might be interested, share our Graduate Hub where there’s more information, resources and the ability to apply. The deadline for applications is 7 November 2022. #GraduateJobs #GraduateProgramme #Careers #CareersAdvice #Jobs #Energy #Training #TrainingAndDevelopment #Skills #SkillsDevelopment #Exams
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II 1926 - 2022 Everyone at EDF is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Her Majesty The Queen. We send our sincere condolences to everyone in the Royal Family and those all around the world who will be mourning her passing. The world has lost an extraordinary woman, a true leader and an inspiration to us all. She pledged to serve for the rest of her life when she was 21 and we are so grateful she honoured her commitment of service. Thank you, Your Majesty, for your devoted service to the Nation and the Commonwealth. Our thoughts are with the Royal Family. Simone Rossi CEO, EDF
To coincide with the UK’s National Net Zero Awareness Week, we hosted our own #NetZeroWeek from 4th - 8th July. As we look to the future, it's clear Britain needs reliable nuclear power alongside wind and solar to help cut carbon emissions. At Hinkley Point C we’re already building British nuclear, with 3600 UK businesses and 22k people making it happen, and have plans to build a replica station at Sizewell C. We’re also looking to extend the operational life of Sizewell B power station by at least 20 years. Together Sizewell B, Sizewell C and Hinkley Point C could deliver #ZeroCarbon electricity for more than 15 million homes. In addition, EDF Renewables has 2GW of onshore wind and 3GW of solar in the development pipeline. Head over to our website to find out more and see how your skills could help.
23rd June was International Women in Engineering Day! It's always a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the inspirational female engineers working at EDF to help Britain to achieve Net Zero. If you didn't get a chance to watch, read or listen to any of the stories we shared, you can find them all on our website. #INWED2022 #ImagineTheFuture #InventorsAndInnovators #FemaleEngineers #Careers #HelpingBritainAchieveNetZero
WE WON! Congratulations to our #PublicSector team for their #GOAward winning Contract Delivery with Crown Commercial Service – a project that saw the onboarding of 25,000 supply points. A huge amount of work goes into the smooth transfer of large quantities of #electricity supplies across multiple sites. Check out our latest blog to see how we did it.
This year's theme for Mental Health Awareness Week is 'Loneliness'. Loneliness can affect anyone at any time and has a huge impact on our physical and mental health, particularly during the pandemic. As the Mental Health Foundation states, our connection to other people and our community is fundamental to protecting our mental health so we're asking our people to commit to connecting with one (or more) person every day - this could just be a conversation, taking up a new hobby, going for a walk or a coffee… The important part is the connection, the human interaction, to help each other feel less lonely. Will you make that commitment too? #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #WeAreEDF
We welcome the Government's new energy security strategy to accelerate homegrown power in the UK. Britain needs reliable nuclear power alongside wind and solar to help achieve greater energy independence. At Hinkley Point C we’re already building British nuclear, with 3600 UK businesses and 22k people making it happen, and have plans to build a replica station at Sizewell C. We're also looking to extend the operational life of Sizewell B power station by at least 20 years. Together Sizewell B, Sizewell C and Hinkley Point C could deliver #ZeroCarbon electricity for more than 15 million homes. In addition, EDF Renewables has 2GW of onshore wind and 3GW of solar in the development pipeline. An offshore wind project in the Firth of Forth is under construction and a floating offshore wind project in the Celtic Sea is also in development. We are ready to support the Government in boosting Britain’s energy security with clean and affordable power, creating thousands of jobs along the way.
We're really excited to share that EDF has raised £400,582 for Prostate Cancer UK, which is our entire four-year partnership target in just two years and two months! Our fantastic employees have come up with some creative and passionate ways to fundraise and we couldn't be prouder.
We're very proud that EDF has been awarded the 2021 most impactful mentoring programme by Mentorloop. We were given this award for transforming our mentoring culture at EDF by empowering employees to manage their own mentoring journey and creating connections across business units and levels, providing diversity of skills, experience and knowledge. Our mentoring programme is a chance for mentees to connect and learn from mentors who are ready to share their insight, advice, and opportunities to help you progress in your career. For mentors, this is a great chance to give back while improving leadership and management skills by providing advice and feedback to a mentee who is ready and willing to accept the help on offer. It’s simple to get started and it’s open to all employees.
