With the new financial year kicking off, we just had our yearly offsite to talk about results and strategy but of course we managed to sneak in a good bit of fun as well.
We are delighted that our wonderfully talented Taisiya Merkulova and Remy Maguire have been shortlisted in the DataIQ 2018 Awards in the New Talent category! Keeping our fingers crossed for them and looking forward to celebrating together at the awards ceremony on 27th June.
We just had the honour of having Marc Powell speaking on behalf of the RNIB at our Accessibility Lunch & Learn. Marc competed at the London 2012 Paralympics as a visually impaired Judo player and he shared his personal stories about the difference organisations can make in people’s lives if they use accessible design for their products. Jasper Law, one of our UX Designers at Moonpig also spoke about how Universal Design is the best way to think about accessibility, while Hayley Camille Morgan, one of our User Researchers at Photobox was talking about cognitive accessibility, considering the psychological impact of design.
Ever wondered how to navigate your route to the cloud? Our CISO Dinis Cruz shares his thoughts on this webinar with Infosecurity Magazine. The cost of sustaining a fixed IT infrastructure, with the risk of continued use of legacy systems and hardware, is further forcing organisations to consider cloud adoption. In order to get the full benefits of cloud in a secure way, businesses must adapt their security solutions and expertise to one that is fit-for-purpose. In this webinar, they look at the options that migration to cloud can offer legacy IT, and how modern cloud can enable full control to better comply with stricter data protection regulations.
To commemorate the royal wedding, we’re launching a nationwide project to create a unique photographic biography of the Royal Family – as seen for the first time through the amateur camera lenses of the great British public. We’ve teamed up with legendary BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond, and over the next two weeks we are calling on the nation to raid phones, albums & attics to submit their own retro-royal snaps taken at any of the 50,000 royal engagements since the Second World War. Over 300 of the best photographs will feature in a spectacular new photo book, The Crown from the Crowd – to be published in early May, and presented as the nation’s gift to Harry and Meghan. All profits from the book will be donated to Help for Heroes. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQwH6

We love a good Lunch and Learn, and of course #IWD was the perfect opportunity to widen our horizons. We gathered at lunch for some inspiration and watched Sheryl Sandberg's TED talk on why there are too few women leaders, along with a talk from Michael Kimmel on why gender equality is good for everyone — men included http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQjKh http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQjKO
