Last week we launched our internal Level 2 Retail Apprenticeship open days in stores, which will help us talk to our colleagues about this great opportunity to gain new experiences and to develop themselves. We always support colleagues, of all ages, with opportunities to get on, continue their education and build their skills for the future. Our apprenticeship gives them a chance to reach their potential, personally and professionally, which also helps us serve Britain's customers a little better every day. Last week Puneet Sidhu and team kicked off our Digital Skills programme where we on-boarded 36 Digital Champions across our London convenience stores. Providing these Champions with tools available at Tesco to help colleagues to have the digital confidence to thrive. Technology is changing both customer shopping behaviour and digital skills will be increasingly important to our colleagues in both their everyday and working lives. Renowned chef and campaigner Jamie Oliver is joining Tesco to help make it easier for the nation to eat well and live healthier lives. As a first step this month, Jamie will front up our ‘helpful little swaps’ in store, where healthier alternatives offer reduced levels of sugar, salt and fat, as well as being cheaper for customers. A basket of ‘helpful little swaps’ will cost 12% less than a regular basket. Jamie will also support our work to help colleagues and customers cook great value, healthier meals from scratch.
