Lancaster University Information Systems Services (ISS) department is looking for a Software Developer to join the Enterprise Operations team on a fixed-term basis until 23rd December 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the modernisation of our application estate, develop new cloud‑ready services, and shape IT solutions used by over 15,000 students and 3,000 staff. You will join a collaborative team of experienced developers working across a diverse portfolio of bespoke applications, customised commercial systems, and externally managed products.
This role sits within an active, in-flight project focused on modernising a portfolio of existing system integrations. The successful candidate will play a key part in reviewing and updating current integrations to align with modern engineering standards and best practices, before implementing and deploying these changes onto a live production platform. They will join a collaborative team of five developers working on the same integration estate, leveraging established design patterns, reusable components, and shared approaches to ensure consistency, quality, and efficient delivery across the programme.

The role is primarily based on the Lancaster University Bailrigg campus, with flexible hybrid working options to support a positive work-life balance. We would expect a minimum of 2 days a week in the office.
