    Staff treat incredibly poorly when it comes to pay and employee rights Poor organisational skills No sick pay Minimal benefits Only as good as your last KPI Not responsible employers

    I worked at Optical Express full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Some nice people, but sadly most have been made redundant. The company is obviously in real trouble.

    Cons

    Too many to mention. Culture of fear, treated as if you are a child, horrible terms and conditions (40 hour week, half hour lunch break, minimum holidays). Some really nasty people at the top.

    Absolutely nothing apart from making good friends

    Cons

    Do NOT work for this company I worked for this company at the contact centre for 4 years and I have struggled most of the time to get my holidays accepted. Management is very poor and customer advisers are not given any helpful guidance when taking phone calls. Call scripts are changed weekly and you are expected to keep up to date with them and you are not notified of any important phone script changes by managers if you are absent. Managers are highly unapproachable and do not take your issues or ideas seriously if you are having any concerns. Absolutely no additional non-monetary benefits for staff except from discount on glasses and contact lenses. Part time staff are rarely acknowledged by managers when running incentives.

    Pros

    Sales people potentially can make a lot of money (however it can be taken away days before expected day. multiple occasions) Some good people Training delivery

    Cons

    Clock in and out system and heavily monitored by management/payroll No bank holidays. No real benefits to speak of - Free Lasek if applicable. Very short lunch (again monitored). Treated as children on a various things. Staff considered highly disposable. Continual change in management structures. No continuity on objectives and processes. Lack of leadership within Senior Management. CEO lead with fear of raising your head above the parapet Highly target driven and managed heavily at all levels. Various cliques within management - no discussion is private. Uncomfortable working space - crammed, often too hot or too cold.

    Pros

    Salary, bonuses, company benefits, free laser surgery after 12 months service, luxurious workplace environment. Training provided. They pay for your travel and hotel if you need this. Amazing people

    Cons

    No many people in OE have previous experience in optic. OE system software need to be update is really complicated. Communication between HO and stores are really bad.
