Meet Marius, our Talent Acquisition Specialist whose volunteering journey is truly inspiring! After relocating to Manchester, Marius found his community at Toastmasters International, quickly rising to Club President within a year. He also mentors college students through One Million Mentors and volunteers as a Telephone Friend with Age UK, supporting elderly people experiencing loneliness. "What I find most rewarding is the spark in a mentee's eyes when they make progress and understand they have the power to succeed," says Marius. At TUI, we proudly support his volunteering through flexibility and encouragement, enabling him to maintain consistent community engagement. Marius's approach? "I'm all about helping people who want to be helped" - meeting them where they are, recognising readiness for change, and walking beside them as a guide and cheerleader. Thank you, Marius, for your incredible impact inside and outside TUI! 💙
Black Friday is huge for our tech teams, but what actually happens behind the scenes? 🖤🏷️ We asked them a few questions, here’s what they had to say: ❓ Something people don’t realise about tech on Black Friday? 💬 "The prep starts way before November. Our teams spend months getting everything ready for those big moments." ❓How do we prepare our systems for the surge? 💬 "Thanks to constant monitoring, we don’t need extra help on Black Friday. We run performance and load tests throughout the year, so we already know the site can handle a lot more than the usual traffic." ❓How do you reduce risks during the event? 💬 "We put a ‘change freeze’ in place so there are no updates or surprises, just steady systems during the rush." ❓What piece of tech makes a huge difference? 💬 "Our monitoring and alerting tools are game changers. We even set up customer account alerts to help personalise the booking experience when people are logged in." ❓How do you celebrate once the rush is over? 💬 "We take a breather, share what went well, and have a mini celebration together." What questions would you ask our tech teams about Black Friday?
From Retail to Rivers 🛳️ Meet Zoe, our Product Development Manager for TUI River Cruises, who’s navigated an incredible career while completing her Chartered Management Degree Apprenticeship. Starting in Retail in 2017, she quickly progressed to Deputy Superstore Manager before moving in 2021 to the Commercial Product team, looking after Spain, Portugal, and her “ice babies” — Lapland and Iceland. In 2024, she developed the S26 Lakes & Mountains strategy, launched new Slope Starters seasons, and refreshed our childcare proposition. Now she’s shaping unforgettable river experiences as Product Development Manager for TUI River Cruises. Zoe says: “Every step has been about creating unforgettable experiences, whether helping customers plan dream holidays in Retail or developing products that inspire adventure. What I love most about TUI is the culture and people — real teamwork, support, and opportunity. Whatever I set my sights on, the business backs me.” Her advice for future joiners? “My only regret is not joining sooner! If you’re passionate about travel, love putting customers first, and want to grow in a supportive, inspiring team, TUI is the place for you.” Zoe’s story shows the power of internal mobility and how we empower colleagues to grow, move, and shape their careers wherever their passions lead.
Your future in Finance or Data starts here! 🎓 Our Graduate Programmes in Finance and Analytics & Data Science in the UK and Ireland are now open for applications. 🥳 Here’s what Meg, Graduate Data Analyst at TUI, had to say about her journey: “I studied Finance at university but joined TUI on the Analytics and Data Science Graduate Programme. This gave me a fresh challenge and enabled me to stretch myself in new ways. The analytical side of Finance gave me a solid foundation, but I was craving something more dynamic. Since joining, I’ve gained exposure to real-world projects, built confidence in my technical skills, and found a community that values diverse thinking. Working in analytics within a travel company is so unique because the data tells stories about people, places, and experiences. I love seeing how insights can shape customer journeys and business strategy in such a vibrant, global industry.” As someone with dyslexia and ADHD, Meg found that TUI's flexible approach really suited her: "Being able to work in ways that suit my brain has made a huge difference." 🧠
Ready to take your career global? 🌍 Our International Graduate Programme is officially live! 🚀 This is your passport to a career full of discovery, development and impact. ✈️ Ever seen a Boeing 787 without its nose? No, it’s not shy, it’s just getting a little TLC in the hangar. We had one of our 787s in for a rare sight: a nose job. That sleek cone at the front (officially called the radome) is off, revealing the high-tech guts that usually stay hidden from view So, what does the nose do? It’s not just for good looks. The radome houses the aircraft’s weather radar, which scans the skies ahead for turbulence, storms, and other atmospheric drama. It’s the plane’s sixth sense, helping pilots steer clear of trouble and keep things smooth at 35,000 feet. 👀 Want to see more behind-the-scenes moments like this? Follow us for exclusive peeks into the world of aircraft maintenance and the incredible team that keeps our fleet flying high. ✈️🔧
