Ten years ago, Sim took a leap of faith to leave Birmingham and join our Technology Graduate Scheme in Hertfordshire. What began as a first role at 21 has grown into an incredible decade-long career journey with TUI. From day one, she immersed herself in learning, gaining a deep understanding of TUI technology, discovering new strengths, and even spending time abroad 🇪🇸 to experience the customer journey ✈️. Five years in, Sim found her passion for the agile world - coaching, training, and introducing new ways of working, while also developing her love for digital web. Over the years, she has grown into a confident senior leader, built lifelong friendships, nurtured her love of travel, and inspired others along the way. We’re proud of everything Sim has achieved and grateful to the colleagues who supported her journey. Here’s to celebrating 10 years at TUI, and the exciting chapters ahead! 🥂💙
Behind every TUI flight is a dedicated team working 24/7, 365 days a year to keep the operation moving – and one of them is Matt, Operations Duty Manager in our Operations Control Centre 🌍 “The OCC is essentially the nerve centre of the airline. We look after flights across five different countries, which makes the role both challenging and fascinating. Each country has its own regulations and local considerations, so no two days are ever the same.” 🌩️ One of Matt’s most memorable moments? Severe storms sweeping across Europe: “We had multiple aircraft diverting at the same time, crew hours running tight, and thousands of customers needing a plan B. You could feel the pressure, but you’ve got to stay calm, focus on safety first, and then work step by step to get the programme back on track. Operations is never a one-person job – you lean on the team around you.” ✈️ For Matt, the passion lies in the scale and the impact: “Every aircraft we watch over is full of customers – families looking forward to their holiday, couples on their honeymoon, someone on their first ever flight. Behind every movement is a story, and I take real pride in being part of that.” A big thank you to Matt and all our OCC teams who keep our airline flying – come rain, shine, or storm 💙
✈️ Behind the scenes: How to change a cockpit window 💡 We recently had one of our Boeing 737s in Hanover for maintenance. Quick turnarounds are what we do best in our hangars – and this week was no exception. ✈️ Our engineering team recently completed an engine change on one of our Dreamliners after it arrived at Luton. Within just a few days, it was back in service - now flying from Manchester on schedule. 💪 Alongside the engine work, our team: • Replaced an inoperative Ram Air Fan • Repaired the aft cargo door edge protector • Refreshed cabin seating for a better customer experience 🧼✨ Another Dreamliner back in the skies thanks to the speed and skill of our engineers! Travel, teamwork and future talent 🌍 Last month, we were proud to represent TUI as premium partner at the Travel Challenge 2025, an exciting international business course for tourism, data, and IT students from the Netherlands. Set in sunny Alicante, Spain, the event brought together 64 final year students and experts from leading travel companies (including TUI!) to work in teams on a real-life case study focused on sustainability and innovation in travel. Our amazing colleagues, including Laura from our Early Careers team and Roelof, Consumer Insights Manager, supported students throughout the week sharing insights, guiding collaboration, and showing just how exciting a career in travel at TUI can be. The Travel Challenge is all about discovering potential, working together, and of course, having fun which is a perfect match for life at TUI. We’re passionate about helping students explore their future with us and can’t wait to welcome the next generation of travel changemakers! 💙
