For International Women's Day 2024, a few of our colleagues shared what International Women's Day means to them.
Last year was a record breaking year for volunteering at Wesleyan, with over 750 days used by our colleagues. This year we're aiming to make that number even higher. At Wesleyan, we offer 2 volunteering days each year which can be used individually, as part of a team, or as a company-wide event! Here's just a few of the group opportunities we're planning this year: - Volunteering with Lichfield Hatherton Canal Restoration Trust to help restore canals in Lichfield for World Environment Day. - Mentoring young woman with the Girls Network or adult students with Global Banking School. - Fundraising Walking Tour. After the success of lasts years Wesleyan Sports Tour for Darby Rimmer MND Foundation we will be planning another walking fundraising event.
Apprenticeship & Performance Qualification Manager, Jules Roberts, and Talent & Leadership Development Manager, Emma Duff, hosted two drop-in sessions at Wesleyan offices in Birmingham and Oswestry for National Apprenticeship Week. These information sessions were organised to answer any questions our colleagues had relating to apprenticeships whilst working at Wesleyan.
Wesleyan we are proud to be a diverse and inclusive company. Last month, through our dedicated Employee Network Groups we celebrated different religions at our Enlightenment event at our Head Office in Birmingham. Colleagues shared their insights and traditions, including a wonderful performance from the Woodside School Choir at our Head Office in Oswestry.
Working from home didn't stop one of our teams having a nice catch up this morning for #BrewMonday to raise awareness with Samaritans đ
we marked âInternational Day of Pink' â a worldwide campaign to encourage antibullying and antihomophobia. To join the stance in having the courage to be yourself, to be kind, and so much more, our colleagues at Wesleyan sported an item of pink clothing in solidarity. We believe everyone should feel comfortable to be their most authentic selves, and our internal employee networks offer support for all our colleagues, along with out Speak-Out policy. We are committed to providing an inclusive and supportive culture, and shall continue to make essential steps towards a more open-minded future for all.
We are pleased to announce our very own in-house Investments team have received the âDiversity Awardâ at Wealth and Asset Management Awards 2023. We believe the diversity of our team encourages healthy challenge and debate that enhances our investment decisions. Currently, around 40% of our Investments team identify as either female or part of the LGBTQ+ and ethnic minority groups, improving the likelihood of Wesleyan achieving stronger fund performance.

Yesterday, we celebrated #internationalwomensday with our incredible Wesleyan colleagues. This yearâs theme for International Womenâs Day was Equity, so to gain further understanding of how we can embrace equity within the workplace and beyond, we ran a series of interactive events at our Head Office in Birmingham. From our virtual talks surrounding STEM careers to our strategic fun fair games event, each session encouraged our colleagues to celebrate their uniqueness and to ensure we continue to raise our voices for gender equity.
