We are so incredibly grateful for the amazing care being provided by NHS key workers during the Covid-19 pandemic... which is why we're proud to be the Birmingham location sponsor for the much-anticipated 'Gratitude' art installation that has been developed by Wild in Art. Wesleyan Chief of Staff, Nathan Wallis, explains: "We're really excited to be a part of this fantastic initiative, which is going to celebrate our key workers in such a creative way. By bringing art to the streets of our home city of Birmingham, this installation will enable thousands of people to enjoy fantastic tributes to the NHS." Learn more below.

MUTUAL SUPPORT: We're proud to announce Wesleyan's £1million 'mutual support package' - designed to help front-line critical workers as well as providing a welcome boost to schools, charities and community groups in need of equipment and funding amidst the Covid-19 crisis. The support package will include; - £1million of donations through the Wesleyan Foundation (including an initial £50,000 to tackle digital poverty within schools). - £50,000 additional support towards the mental health challenges being faced by critical workers - A continuation of the 24/7 well-being support hub launched last May. Group Chief Executive Mario Mazzocchi comments: "We have listened to our customers and this package of support is intended to focus on areas in urgent need of help such as the mental health of our doctors, and digital poverty within schools. We hope that the support we can offer will help to ease some of the pressures brought on by Covid-19."
A timely update from Group Chief Executive, Mario Mazzocchi...
It's been an incredibly tough few weeks with further restrictions and lockdowns implemented over the Christmas and New Year periods... but we did at least try to raise a smile for 22 fantastic causes across the UK. In December, we shared £11,000 between the below charities (as chosen by employees), to help them continue the fantastic work they do on a daily basis! They are all causes that we feel passionately about at Wesleyan, as we strive to carry on making a positive impact to people and organisations making a difference.
We're proud to announce that Wesleyan has signed up to the 10,000 Black Interns initiative. We believe that this will provide much-needed opportunity and experience to young black talent - helping to develop skillsets and life-skills to support future career aspirations. It will also help towards our long-term goal of being a more representative and inclusive workplace. We are creating a number of paid internship positions to be filled in 2021, and are looking forward to working and developing interns that join us through this fantastic programme. #1000BlackInterns

Inspiring Female Leaders - Former journalist and company CEO Alice Morrison made a life-changing decision in 2011 to swap the corporate rat-race to become a full-time explorer. Since then, she’s become affectionately known as the female Indiana Jones – discovering lost cities, tombs of the giants, escaping the clutches of quick-sand and dodging landmines... We were thrilled to hear from Alice as part of our Inspiring Female Leader webinar series this week, with the internal event supported by Wesleyan's Gender Employee Network. Alice joined us live from Marrakesh having recently returned from a gruelling 78-day trek across the Sahara Desert!
Our Group Chief Operating Officer David Stewart recently sat down with FinTech Magazine to proudly discuss Wesleyan's company culture, and explain how our digital transformation is unlocking exciting opportunities for trusted professionals.
Did you know that Wesleyan encourages all employees to spend two days volunteering in the local community every year (while still getting paid by the Society). As a Mutual, it is important that we give back to our members, customers and the wider community. Obviously 2020 has thrown up some unique challenges, but it has been uplifting to see so employees continue to support causes close to their hearts. The photo below shows Alison and Dan from Wesleyan, planting a series of 15ft Silver Birch trees in their local park as part of a local regeneration project.
