Assistant Operations Manager

We are looking for a driven, organised, and hands-on Assistant Operations Manager to join our team and help drive our warehouse performance to the next level.
The Role
As the Assistant Operations Manager, you will work closely with the Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of our Bristol facility. This is a dynamic, fast-paced role where you will balance team leadership, logistical efficiency, and strict health and safety standards.
Your 40-hour work week will involve a mix of floor management and operational planning, ensuring our fleet and warehouse team deliver maximum efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Support the management, motivation, and development of the warehouse and transport teams, fostering a productive and positive working environment.
- Daily Operations: Oversee goods-in, storage, order picking, cable cutting, and dispatch processes to ensure daily KPIs are met.
- Inventory Control: Assist with stock audits, perpetual inventory counts, and variance investigations to maintain high stock accuracy.
- Health & Safety: Ensure strict compliance with all company and legal health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working culture on the shop floor.
- Logistics & Transport: Coordinate with drivers and transport planners to optimise delivery routes and ensure timely dispatch to customers.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in the warehouse layout or workflows and implement efficient solutions.

Requirements:
- Proven experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within a busy warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities under pressure.
- A solid understanding of warehouse health and safety regulations.
- Good IT literacy (experience with Warehouse Management Systems and MS Office).
- Experience in the industrial, electrical, or heavy-goods sector is a distinct advantage but not essential.
