Pros

I have been at Exact Data for over 2 years now, and it is a job that truly rewards the hard working. The more work I put in the more money I see in my check. Management has been great and helped me grow as a sales person and team leader. Been here for 2 years and planning on being here for many more. Oh, and weekends off. Can't beat it.

Cons

It is only for those willing to put in the work.

Pros

Your effort determines how successful you will be and there's nothing better than betting on yourself. Management provides the tools to be successful and team leaders do everything they can to see you succeed out of training. Comradery among team members and coworkers is great. Pre-pandemic we were able to hang out after work for drinks and relax from a long day.

Cons

Fine details are monitored closely but don't become an issue unless a subpar performance is put on.

Pros

Office Aesthetics, location, monthly happy hours

Cons

Just about everything else. Seatwarmer position. The pay is not good, the culture is not good, the leadership was not good, management is not good, just about everyone in there will lie to you.

Pros

Daisy is the only thing that keeps people from quitting after 2 days.

Cons

I will say that I haven't found much to like about this company and so I have many negative things to say. As a prospective employee I will only say the things that you should know. This is a very bear bones company. Whatever money Larry is making is not reinvested into the office or the staff. This will become very clear when you go through the "training" because it provides you with no real information about the product or what the company is all about. You are expected to make 175 dials a day. Let me repeat that ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-FIVE DIALS A DAY. I've worked at a handful of inside phone sales companies before and the expectation is closer to 60-80, which is reasonable. The only way you are even able to come close to that number is because the leads are worn out and cold. Most of the time you are being sent right to voicemail because they blocked Exact Datas number. There is no camaraderie among the staff and you will be treated only as a device to make dials instead of a person. The schedule is very rigid and you would see in your new hire handbook that the "breaks" are at 10am and 3pm. Funny thing is that management often says "break is cancelled" and you are not allowed to take 15 minutes. Seriously, let that sink in. If it's 9:56 am and you are looking forward to your 15 minute break to do whatever, they just up and say, "no, break is cancelled, stay on the phone" and for what? You're just trying to make Larry money. Have you ever had a job where you aren't allowed a 15 minute break? The company has no faith in their employees at all. Their objective is to work you until you either quit or get fired. The internal employee messaging is blocked unless you're a manager because they are worried about people talking to each other. This is a placeholder job until you find something better, period. Steer clear of this place at all costs unless you are in financial desperation. This place is a serious dump. I cannot express that anymore clearly. Stay the eff away from this absolute dumpster fire of a company. If you can do literally anything else, do that. And when you think about it you are basically selling other people's information to companies that are going to blow up their phones. Think about all those random telemarketing companies that call you about god knows what..Exact Data makes that possible. Even just typing all this out makes me frustrated. Also look up the CEO, he has a Wiki page "Larry P. Organ" the dude is a scam artist.

Pros

The best part about working for Exact Data is that hard work gets rewarded and noticed. Over the course of 5 years, Exact Data has consistently provided growth opportunities that I could have never imagined when I first started. Within my first 6 months I was promoted into the management team, and by my third year I was promoted into the executive team. More recently, as Exact Data expanded their operations, I had the opportunity to relocate to Florida which has always been a goal of mine. Working for Exact Data has made me into a professional. The personal growth and development that I have experienced and continue to experience has made me a better leader, a confident speaker, and most importantly a sales professional. If you are someone who works hard and hungry to succeed, Exact Data is the place for you!

Cons

If you are looking to collect an easy check, this is not the place for you. Sales is performance based and requires thick skin. You must come in ready to work hard, learn, and you must be hungry to succeed. Learning the product and systems takes time, so you must be ready to commit and understand that success doesn’t happen overnight. If you can push passed the initial hurdles of learning the product and count systems and building a pipeline, the job becomes very easy and lucrative.

Not the best

Pros

The people, working from home is easy and convenient. Work/life balance was good, anytime I needed time off or vacation it wasn’t hard to get.

Cons

There’s a lot here. To give an idea, I interviewed on a Friday and started the next Monday, that should’ve been a red flag for me but I was desperate for work, that’s the only reason you should take this job. The place was a turnover machine before Covid, no one was really let go once they went WFH but nothing got better. You get paid off a draw and the pay is considerably less than competitive. I never received a raise in the three and a half years I worked there, take home pay was a shade over $900 every 2 weeks. If you can live on $22k/year good for you, I couldn’t it’s the main reason I left. Another issue is that the ratio of sales reps to managers was just about 1:1 for the last two years or so making advancements almost impossible. The company was acquired by Data Axle and operates under its umbrella, sales meetings are attended by both DA and ED reps but the DA reps are on a completely different (and better) pay structure. Imagine sitting in a meeting every morning and looking at a sea of faces of people that do the same job as you, at technically the same company and knowing that they are making significantly more money than you is aggravating. The overall lack of transparency was astounding and the KPI’s were somewhat unrealistic. If you want to sit on the phone all day trying to sell a service people don’t really want and only bring in $2k/month more power to you. Lastly, if management gets a hint that you’re leaving or looking for other work they will fire you immediately. I had to quit on literally the last day possible just to make sure I got paid. They won’t pay out your PTO either if you leave. Not a great place to work and I regret almost all of the over 3 years I worked there expect for the friends I made.
