  3. "Hostile work environment"

    Doesn't Recommend

I have been working at Saga Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Flexible working, good benefits package

    Cons

Terrible environment with people constantly gossiping about each other. Supervisor constantly bullies employees and management does nothing about it, to the point where supervisor has been reported to HR on five different occasions but they are still in the company. Casual racism is rampant.

    Advice to Management

Actually make an effort to improve the environment among the people if you want the huge turnover to stop. Some people there are absolutely toxic.

I have been working at Saga Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good social role and can be a fun environment to work with good opportunities to promote yourself within your role to increase pay and commission.

    Cons

Senior management are purely focused on shareholder profits and customer satisfaction, and this comes at the sacrifice of employee engagement and happiness. The company will side with the customer on any decision even if the customer has been racially abusive to the employee and then complains that they didn’t like the service received. As a result the company expects you to be willing to be insulted and abused in the quest for making them money. This goes hand in hand with tough and on occasions impossible commission targets which are expected to be achieved.

    Advice to Management

Use a staff perspective to understand the role and demands and support your colleagues in the difficult environment that you expect them to excel.

I have been working at Saga Group full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Pay has recently been reviewed so our contact centre roles are now much improved and very competitive in local market. Balanced approach to reward, engagement, focus and performance. Lots of opportunities across the business, to develop a career within our contact centres, our support areas or a wide variety of other functions.

    Cons

No specifics that I can think of
