Strengths and weakness

Pros

Saga management (Team leaders, operation managers) are very supportive for the most part. Great teams and environment to work in, lots of benifits. Lots of opportunities to feel heard CEO and management seem to be in touch with colleagues thoughts/feelings/ideas.

Cons

Communication is awful. A culture of constant need to improve services/processes however no forethought for the greater consequence this may have for colleague or customer, changes often focused on the fact they’re changing, rather than the change itself. Audits often based on nuisance points rather than the facts, often affecting pay progression.

Pros

Flexible working. Supportive. Great opportunities. The ability to approach senior management is encouraged. A large variety to your day- no day is ever boring and you feel fulfilled in your role.

Cons

Main communication channel is via a workplace social media- some messages need to be done directly to the colleagues.

Pros

Work from home option, pension contribution matching.

Cons

Feels like each manager needs to prove they still have a purpose in this top heavy company leading to micromanagement often chasing stats on a spreadsheet that mean nothing to customer journey or staff well being. No real interest in improving on any lacking areas with no effort what so ever to evolve, stuck in the past in both ideas and technology. Computers and/or IT equipment is easy a decade old and just about gets the job done... Slowly, very slowly. Internal sites hang on database lock until some one can "reboot the sever" , Career Opportunities rated 1 star as internal hire freeze Compensations & Benefits rated 1 star as wages have no kept up with industry. Culture and Values rated 1 star due to lack of support (support on paper, but can't be accessed if you try) Diversity and Inclusion rated 5 stars as we're all treated the same way, we're worthless. Senior Management rated 1 star as they don't address the obvious problems, or choose no action knowing we'll just leave and go else where. Work / Life Balance rated 1 stars forcing some departments to work 6 day weeks without even a smidgen of over time is why you're losing people. What wants to work 4 full days and two half days ? What's even the point ? Sort your rota out....

Pros

WFH & commission (Thats if you hit it!)

Cons

Working at Saga has been a challenging experience, primarily due to the severe understaffing issue that is reflected in our consistently high call volumes. If you're assigned to phone duties, expect to handle continuous calls day in and day out. Taking necessary breaks, even for basic tasks like updating customer notes or using the restroom, comes with penalties. Additionally, when it comes to commission, QA scrutiny is stringent, often resulting in commission deductions for minor issues found in the calls they review. This can effectively reduce earnings to minimum wage levels. Over time, Saga seems to have added more processes, making the job increasingly demanding, with the apparent aim of minimizing commission payouts. At times, it feels like the company is working against its own employees. The turnover rate here is very high, with many new hires experiencing the demands of phone duty post-training and promptly leaving. Moreover, there appears to be a lack of opportunities for career advancement, making this feel like a dead-end position. These are some of the primary concerns I've encountered during my tenure, though there are more that could be mentioned.
