This new post within NHSGGC’s Public Health Directorate offers an exciting opportunity to provide strong general management support within the Improving Population Health section of the Directorate.
The post holder will manage staff, be accountable for all aspects of service delivery and responsible for budget and physical resources ensuring that the Public Health Priorities and outcomes aligned with the Directorate are delivered to ensure the best possible outcomes for the population of NHSGGC.
The role, working alongside the Head of Service (who provides professional leadership), the post is responsible for ensuring that appropriate systems and processes are in place to enable services to meet the requirements of, and demonstrate achievements in Clinical, Corporate and Staff Governance, through monitoring, performance management and evaluation.
This includes ensuring that effective management and organisational arrangements are in place to implement decisions of the Public Health Directorate, as well as leading and managing staff in accordance with appropriate policies and procedures and the requirements of Staff Governance. Risk management across a wide range of programmes and in accordance with risk management frameworks is required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required as is a good understanding of the NHS policy and service agenda.
Although not essential, public health experience would be advantageous.
