About the role
The Process Engineer is responsible for knowledge of Semiconductor process and product interactions with efficient and reliable operation of Semiconductor epitaxial reactors (MOCVD, MBE), ensuring high product quality, production yield, and equipment uptime. This role mainly supports both Production activities, including process development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
- This role is aimed at those with good conceptual knowledge of fundamental theories, principles and practices and understands the manufacturing process.

Responsible for continuing to develop knowledge of Semiconductor process and product interactions.

This role will mainly focus on the epitaxy process, although support in sustaining or operating the reactor may be required at times.

This role requires data analysis, recipe creation and cross-functional collaboration.

This role is aimed at those with a basic level of knowledge and experience of the organization, processes and customers and is expected to work with guidance from senior level roles.

Must have a basic level of analytics, scientific method, and operational process of epitaxial material.

Must be able to support resolution of issues and troubleshooting efforts.

Must be able to work under supervision for established procedures and practices, with the expectation to progress within the role.

Must be able work to clearly defined methods and tasks, working to structured work assignments to complete tasks safely and with quality in mind.

Main Responsibilities
-
Split work between the cleanroom environment, following all required protocols and procedures and the office.
-
Support a high level of cleanliness by completing scheduled housekeeping tasks.
-
Comply with all company policies, SOP (Standard Operating Procedures), Work Instructions, and record keeping requirements.
-
Comply with all EHS protocols and requirements.
-
Comply with all health and safety, HR, environmental quality and cybersecurity guidelines and procedures internally and within the scope of business, ISO, and regulatory requirements as it pertains to the job function.

Have clear understanding of chemicals and substances in the workplace and follow strict guidance for handling of such substances, which could include PPE requirements.

Foster a collaborative work environment and promote teamwork across departments.

The role may require a degree of flexibility in working hours, which will be discussed and agreed to support both individual and organisational needs.

Adhere to the competency management process, completing assigned tasks, training and approvals in a timely manner.

Use computerized tools and software to follow process and routine tasks, accurately recording all works carried out for traceability and within the scope of the role.

Have basic experience and competence with troubleshooting.
-
Support for the operation and performance of Semiconductor reactors (MOCVD, MBE) to meet product specifications and output targets.
-
Assists in generating growth and process recipes for production and calibration activities aligned with customer specs and engineering guidelines.

Adjust process parameters to ensure product meets specifications.
-
Monitor critical reactor parameters and material outputs for consistency and quality.
-
Monitor and chart reactor performance using statistical process control (SPC) methods in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Interpret process metrics and reactor health parameters.
-
Support corrective/preventive actions, problem solving, failure analysis, process qualification, and root cause investigations with supervision.

Coordinates reactor scheduling activities to meet production targets efficiently.

Ensure Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software is managed to control Process Engineering activities, and accurately record all works carried out for traceability.

Supports the creation of technical reports that are shared internally and externally with clarity using supporting data.

Analyse data from the suite of characterisation tools internally along with external results to guide process control.

Perform other functions and duties as required.

General understanding and knowledge of Semiconductor reactors (MOCVD, MBE) or other semiconductor growth technologies.
Experience Requirements:
-
Comprehensive experience in Process Engineering or equivalent manufacturing field.
-
5+ Years experience in Process Engineering or equivalent combination of education, experience and/or knowledge is desirable.
-
Reactor (MOCVD, MBE) process knowledge preferred.
- Experience with SPC and recipe editing is preferred.
Experience with reactor maintenance is a plus.

Qualification Requirements:
-
Level 4-5 Qualification or 2-Year/Associate’s technical degree in Engineering or equivalent, physics, materials science, or related technical field. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Specialised technical qualifications relevant to the role.
