I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Marks & Spencer (Enfield, England) in Oct 2015
Interview
i applied online where you had to do two test one was a personality test and the other was a situational, which took rather long, more than 1 hour. very quick and easy process best i have experienced and they get back to you almost straight away takes a day. i passed this and had to book an appointment for interview which i did, i chose the earliest one. three days later im on my way to the interview. dressed fairly smart. my interview was late... i was expecting to do a roleplay and then 1 to 1 interview so i prepared. the lady who was very lovely then said that they do not do they roleplay process anymore as they feel it doesnt test people in the right way so i was happy all i had to do instead was follow around 2 different workers on the sales floor for was supposed to be 20 mins but was 30mins. you have to make sure to ask lots of questions!! which i did and spoke about the 4 i's (inspire, innovate, integrity and in-touch. im 18 so dont have much experience. anyway the 2 employees said they really liked me and were impressed by what i asked and spoke about for my age and said i was the best 18 yr old they had been with.. anyway got into the 1 to 1 interview and she started it off by saying "already hearing excellent feedback about you" which felt good. then she asked all the basic questions like why m&s and stuff like that what i was doing and studying at the moment that all went excellent. then............ where i went down hill haha, um they asked lots of questions about when i experience this and that like integrity when i inspiredd and used teamwork, i gave examples like i played for a sports team and from school because that is the only experience i have. i found this quite difficult to answer and felt really nervous and under pressure which i guess was the deal breaker. the lady told me at the end to write my number down on this sticky note for her and she even said to me she would call me this evening to let me know.. two weeks on no call :( oh well working somewhere else now hah. best of luck! make sure u prepare

I interviewed at Marks & Spencer (Milton Keynes, England)
Interview
Initially went and the last candidate overran (i waited for 40 minutes extra) so my interview got moved to next week. Original interviewer wasn't available so a colleague performed it. They could not find the interview sheet so had to come up with questions on the spot and get my details again. I was a bit annoyed but I think the interview was okay.

What would you do if you have been given a task but a long queue is building up at tills, and there is only one colleague serving?
Quite informal, mostly asking about my reasons for applying to them specifically - I recommend looking at their welfare and environmental status, and the fact that their brand is associated with higher quality food

Interview
Very chilled out interview with a few questions about simple stuff like what you would do in a confrontational event. Really nice interviewer, felt more like a chat than an interview.
