Salary – Up to £34,000 per year
Location - Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, DN16 1XA
Pattern of Work – 36.5 hours, Monday - Friday
What you need to know about the role
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Support Engineer to join our growing department. You will play a key role in maintaining our large (2000+)computer estate.
You will be supporting the usual Microsoft operating systems and applications as well as a diverse range of other applications.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who is passionate about IT and able to work in a large and sometimes complex environment.
Key Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to;
- Provide technical support to internal users.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues on PCs, Mobile devices, Printers and other peripherals.
- Escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with users and colleagues.
- Troubleshoot and solve issues related to Microsoft Office applications, SAP and other enterprise software.
- Resolve basic networking issues and problems with VPN access.
- Assist users with password and multi-factor authentication (Entra MFA) issues
- Diagnose permissions issues and help with access requests.
What we need to know about you
- Experience supporting Microsoft desktop OS
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- VPN troubleshooting (e.g., Cisco AnyConnect)
- Familiar with MFA processes
- Remote support experience (TeamViewer, RDP)
- Basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Active Directory & Group Policy knowledge
- Basic database access/management
- Hardware troubleshooting (PCs, laptops, printers, peripherals)
- Clear, professional telephone manner
