This role will work primarily within the Affordable HousingValuations team, part of CBRE’s market-leading Living Valuations service line.The team provides specialist valuation and advisory advice across theaffordable housing sector to registered providers, local authorities, lenders,investors and developers. Led by a Senior Director, the team currentlycomprises Associate Directors, Senior Surveyors, a Surveyor and a Graduate, andis expanding to meet strong and growing client demand. We are an ambitious,fast-growing team with an established client base and a clear strategy tocapture a significant share of the affordable housing valuation market. This isan opportunity to join at a pivotal stage of the team’s growth – helping tolead and develop the team, deepen existing client relationships and win newbusiness as we scale.
Key Responsibilities
Provide valuation and advisory advice across the affordable housing sector for secured lending, financial reporting, regulatory, stock rationalisation, transactional and investment purposes.
Lead business development activity, leveraging an existing client base and network to maintain client relationships and win new mandates across registered providers, lenders, investors and developers.
Help drive the team’s growth strategy and capture market share in affordable housing valuation as the team continues to scale.
Lead fee pitching, fee quotes, RFPs and tender activity, taking ownership of pricing and proposals.
Close liaison with clients ensuring high quality advice is consistently delivered.
Play an active role in helping to lead, manage and grow the team, including day to day team and line management duties such as performance review, coaching and development.
Take ownership of project management across instructions – scoping, resourcing, timelines and delivery – ensuring work is run efficiently and completed to deadline.
QRM compliance oversight, sign off conflict checks and manage ClientIQ opportunity records up to execution.
Conduct physical property inspections and supervise and review output of inspections conducted by junior members of the team.
Valuation modelling (including DCF modelling for EUV-SH and other affordable housing bases), calculation and sensitivity analysis of higher complexity work.
Complete 'activate' set up in TOPS2.
Hold team accountable for maintaining ClientIQ data to ensure WIP dashboard is up to date.
Enhancement to fulfil and deliver Client Reporting Requirements – sign off on client portals and data controllership requirements.
Review valuation work drafted by other members of the Valuation team to ensure quality and consistency and sign off for job completion.
Work with the Service Delivery team to ensure that execution is prioritised and completed.
Help with more complex revenue recognition tasks.
Integrate and collaborate with the wider CBRE network and other business lines.
Support with other value add tasks and internal initiatives for innovation and improvement.
Work flexibly across services within the Division and support other Sectors and Divisions as and when required.
Person Specification/Requirements
MRICS qualified or equivalent (RICS Registered Valuer), with relevant post-qualfiied experience.
Demonstrable experience valuing affordable housing and/or wider residential assets, with a strong understanding of registered provider structures and the sector.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Real Estate, Surveying, or a related field.
Proven experience of managing client accounts, ideally with an established client base or network within the affordable housing sector.
Experience using valuation software and tools, with strong Excel and DCF modelling skills.
Strong understanding of property market trends and factors influencing property values, and the ability to use that intel in business development discussions.
Strong knowledge of regulations and standards in property valuation.
Proven management experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling the development of good relationships with both clients and colleagues.
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to prioritise tasks, delegate where appropriate and meet deadlines.
Proactive, commercially minded and self-motivated, with the drive to identify and pursue new opportunities.
Enjoys working under pressure in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Valid UK driving licence – if applicable.
