Electrical & Mechanical Engineers
Installation, Service & Manufacturing
Location: Field Based

Overall Job Purpose

These roles are predominantly site-based, with regular weekly travel to West Cumbria,
and centre on delivering installation, commissioning and service activities on customer
sites. This work is supported by block periods based at our Carlisle facility for build,
testing and home-hub operations. Flexibility and a willingness to regularly work away
from home are essential.

Key Responsibilities
Site Based (Primarily Cumbria and the wider North of England, with occasional work
in Southern Scotland and opportunities for international travel):

• Install, commission and service specialist and nuclear grade door systems.
• Travel frequently across Cumbria and the wider North of England for site-based

projects, with some work extending into Southern Scotland, particularly within the
Nuclear sector.

• Support overseas projects when required, contributing to installations in more than

• Carry out diagnostics, repairs, adjustments and safety checks on complex systems.
• Provide accurate site documentation and clear customer updates.
• Work safely at height and in full compliance with RAMS, HSQE procedures and client

Factory-Based Responsibilities:

• Build, assembly and testing of mechanical and electrical components and systems.
• Factory acceptance activities and pre-installation preparation.
• Troubleshooting, adjustments and quality checks.
• Continuous improvement and production support.
• Training, development and familiarisation with new products and systems.

Your Path: Electrical Engineer
Key Focus Areas

• Wiring and building electrical control panels and assemblies.
• Producing wiring harnesses, cable assemblies and soldered connections.
• Electrical fault-finding on control systems, sensors, interlocks and safety circuits.
• Installing, commissioning and servicing electrically driven door systems.
• Interpreting electrical schematics, GA drawings and technical documentation.

What You’ll Bring

• Time-served or formally qualified in an electrical discipline.
• Strong understanding of ELV & LV AC/DC principles and control systems.
• Confident with wiring, electrical assembly and diagnostics.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and test information.
• Safe use of electrical tools and test equipment, and confident working at height.
