Pros

The people are friendly and nice to work with, and you see interesting things because of the effects of alcohol.

Cons

The customers can get aggressive or rude because they're drunk, and shifts can feel extremely long with relatively short breaks.

Good career prospects

Pros

Fast progression, good prospects, lots of support from above. Nice to have something to aim for and isn't "just pub work". With 900+ pubs it's not like I'm going to be wondering how long my job is going to last.

Cons

Late finishes, early mornings. Should be standard for the trade, but sometimes it can get to you. Sometimes that 11 hours between shifts law seems very, very flexible. Work/life balance is, as expected, truly awful. Even for management.

Pros

They work hard to provide a lot of training for you, encouraging you to be the best you can be. It's great to be in a company that cares about its staff progress. Bonuses are pretty sweet.

Cons

It can be a very stressful environment. You do eventually get used to it though. There is also a quick turnover for a lot of staff. It pretty much can take over your life.
